BATTLE ROYALE

a little trivia of this controversial japanese movie. the movie was R18 in almost all of the country in which was shown there. it was banned in the US, Singapore & Malaysia and even in JAPAN! (but they still let it shown there) last 2004 theres a crime happend in japan the "sasebo slashing" a 12 y/o school girl murder her 11 y/o classmate. the 12 y/o girl was a big fan of this movie.

The story is about a group of Highschool kids moslty aged 15. the whole class embark on a class trip. on the bus the students were gassed, kidnapped and taken into a isolated island and fitted with exploding collars, once there, they were shocked to find that they are inside an abandoned school and that Kitano (their class teacher) along with the government is behind the entire operation. Kitano informs them that they have been selected as participants in Battle Royale, a game created by the Millennial Educational Reform Act (better known as the BATTLE ROYALE ACT) where the students must kill each other until only one is left. One class from the country per year is selected to participate in the program.(last year, a girl left standing and survived all the killings) If after three days a winner is not declared, the explosive collars attached to each student's neck will be detonated. The collars also prevent the students entering certain areas of the field of participation, the "danger zones," with the intention of forcing the students to encounter one another. later they have been informed whats the reason of all of this One by one, each student leaves the school, having been provided with survival packs, maps of the island and a random weapon or other non-deadly device. some of them had luckily picked out deadly weapons like axe, shotguns, bombs, machine guns etc. while some students unfortunately picked out binoculars, "takip ng kaserola", "pamaypay", and a microphone as their weapon. im telling you, its one bloody fight between each students, even though all of them are friends. they had no choice but to kill each other, its so brutal to the extent that nobody ever trust each other anymore. meron scene dun na na touch ako kasi yung girl was hiding in a warehouse then a guy comes in and saw the girl, the girl right away shot him and he told her that "i was looking for you to protect you, ive been wanting to say this but i really like you" the girl replied "i thoguht you're here to kill me, i never thought that you like me coz you're always quite in our classroom. why didnt you tell me?!" there was this two lovers which they decided whatever happen they will never play the game. but one of them has to die to declare a winner. yung weapon ng guy eh yung "takip ng kaserola" and yung girl naman eh "binocular" but how on earth will they defend themselve with that kind of weapon? who will be last student standing? what happen to the lovers? nag patayan ba sila? oooh spoiler na. dont worry i wont tell kung sino ang natira sa class nila. hehe. as for my own opinion about this movie, if ever mangyari to sa class namin.hmmm the whole LEGAL MANAGEMENT have to kill eachother kasi it was suggested by our ATTY that who ever is the last Leg.Ma student survived he will get a mark of FLAT 1! wooh! its sooo exciting! for example, kaming 3 nalang ang natira na Leg.Ma (chard, julius & me) hmmm. hahaha! "pare, i love you but one of us only has to survive THEN BANG! binaril ko bigla si julius sa ulo sabog ang ulo nya! then kami nalang ni chard and natitira, ang weapon na napili ko eh shotgun at si chard malas nya gitara ang napili nya. haha! so BANG! binaril ko agad sya sa puso ayun patay! so ako nakakuha ng 1! haha. (walang aangal. istorya ko to!)
i wonder bat hindi ito pinalabas sa pilipinas?! pero i wouldnt think the MTRCB will let this movie shown here. remeber the Virgina Tech Massacre? thats probably one of the reason why it was banned in the US. almost ganun din story.the movie is a kind of reflection for youth. parang how far can you protect the person who are close to you? and can you really trust someone?
